Pastor's Bio

Charles Kevin Mitchell is a Miami native who was educated in the Miami-Dade Public School

System is a proud graduate of Miami Northwestern Senior High School. Because he is a strong

believer in education, he has gone on to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.,

FIU), a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A., FIU), a Master of Divinity (MDiv, NOBTS), a Master of Theology (ThM, NOBTS) and he is currently pursuing a PhD in Christian Leadership) at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Rev. Mitchell was licensed as a Minister in 1995 at Friendship MBC and served as an Associate Minister under the leadership of Rev. Dr. D.L. Powell.

Always active in ministry, Rev. Mitchell was elevated in leadership at Friendship by Rev. Dr.

Gaston E. Smith and served as his assistant until he was called as Pastor of True Vine MBC in

2006. Since assuming the mantle of leadership, Rev. Mitchell has served faithfully and

effectively. He has led the church in several projects that have upgraded the condition of our

campus, in addition to providing the vision for the addition of several new ministries and the

revitalization of several existing ministries.

Reverend Mitchell has a civic and kingdom-minded agenda and as a result, he has affiliated

himself with several organizations that work to advance the cause in these areas of service. He

is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., a lifetime member of the N.A.A.C.P., and he

serves as a Chaplain for the City of Opa Locka Police Department to name a few.

Reverend Mitchell has been married for 26 years to the former Ms. Patricia Veal. God has

blessed them with two wonderful children: Charles K. Mitchell, III, and Michele Britney

Mitchell. His favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and

lean not to thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy

paths.” His personal motto is taken from Colossians 3:23, “And whatsoever ye do, do it

heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward

of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.”
